Digital modifications include both retouching and digital creative art embellishments. This area is wide in offering many possibilities. In many cases, minimal preparation of an image file for printing is necessary. In other cases, extensive color correction is needed. At times an image needs to be cleaned up and even areas of an image are sometimes removed or radically altered. Special effects can also be implemented. In short a great list of alterations and modifications are available and we are glad to accommodate your needs.
The basic tweaking of an image, slight color corrections, is included as part of our service at no extra charge. Beyond this, we charge $80.00 per hour with a 1/4 of an hour minimum
We welcome and encourage you to send a proof that we can use to gauge the direction you want your work to go.
Color management is an art as well as a science. Absolute reproduction is what we strive for. If in your photography you have a certain look that you like, such as a certain way you like skin tones to look. We can keep some sample images of yours on file for reference.
For the photographer using digital, we can print in SRGB color space if you wish or use Adobe 1998 color space whichever is your preference. We can scan transparencies as well.
Original art reproductions
For artists who would like giclee reproductions of their original artwork, we will not accept your original artwork through the mail or delivery service. You may hand deliver your artwork for Giclee Lab to photograph and convert to a digital format. For reproductions of art for artists who reside outside of our locale area we prefer that you have your work photographed and put in a digital file or transparency. A digital TIFF file is preferable but other file formats are acceptable. |
